Due to the enthusiasm of our community, we have filled all of the
team spots for this year's Lake Champlain Dragon Boat Festival. Our
Dragonheart team thanks you all for your support. View a list of the
2008 Field of Teams on our Team Information and Tips page soon. It's
going to be a great year of racing for sure. Come on down to the Burlington
Waterfront on Sunday August 3, 2008 to be part of
the fun and festivities.
Even if you can't race, you can still be part of the day. We could
use your help. Please sign up to be a festival volunteer. You can
also help further our cause by sending in a donation. Your donation
moves us closer to this year's festival goal of $100,000. Just click
on <Volunteers>
or <Donations> to
find out more. Our Dragonheart team truly appreciates your kind support.

Help us buy a new dock!
We need your help. Dragonheart has unexpectedly found itself faced with a dilemma involving our docks for the festival. It's going to take a community like ours to solve it. We have a plan and with your help the result will last a lifetime! Click for Dock Appeal.
Welcome to the home of The Lake Champlain
Dragon Boat Festival. You've come to the right place to learn
all about our dragon boat races to be held in Burlington, Vermont. What
is dragon boating? Just the HOTTEST sport going! It's the fastest and
most fun paddle team sport around. Twenty paddlers sit aboard a 40-foot
long canoe and power through a racecourse with synchronicity. Teamwork
with a capital "T"! Come on, everybody. Join us August
3rd. Cheer on your favorite teams. Ride The Dragon!
This is the Third Annual Lake Champlain Dragon Boat Festival.
It is hosted by Dragonheart Vermont, a breast cancer
survivor and supporter dragon boat team. For those fortunate enough
to have taken part in the last two years, they already know what an
extraordinary experience this is. Our goal is to create a waterfront
event that will get our entire community involved. As a breast cancer
survivor team first and foremost, we strive to send out an inspirational
message of living life fully after a cancer diagnosis. On top of all
the fun and the fitness, we plan to raise funds for two community non-profits
— Dragonheart Vermont and the Cancer
Patient Support Program’s Emergency Fund. This fund offers
essential emotional and financial support to local people in need as
they face the challenges of cancer treatment.

Dragonheart Vermont has a winning tradition. In 2006,
we gathered together 1200 racers, 12,000 spectators, and many generous
sponsors to raise $35,000 for the FAHC Oncology Radiation Department.
In 2007, we upped the excitement with 2000 racers, 22,000 spectators,
and even more generous sponsors to help us raise $80,000 for the VNA’s
Hospice of the Champlain Valley and Vermont Respite House and for Dragonheart
Vermont.
Don’t you want to be a part of our event this year? You can!
Just gather together a group of 21 of your friends, family, and/or co-workers
(20 paddlers and a drummer) and register to race. It’s a thrill
a minute. Registration and payment is online this year. The cost is
$1470 a team or only $70 per person. This fee includes a practice session,
a festival tee shirt, 2 to 3 races, a medal, a chance to vie for a divisional
cup, and a chance to race in the Citizens Bank Champ Cup. You truly
get more than you give!
We expect to sell out again this year so please act now! The first
75 teams to complete their registration with payment of race fees will
be paddling in the Lake Champlain Dragon Boat Festival. You
